Ryan Kron

Ryan grew up in Bartlett, IL, quickly gaining an interest in weather from a young age. Following high school, he attended Northern Illinois University, graduating in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology. Ryan was an active member of NIU’s chapter of the American Meteorological Society and received the Jack Villmow award for being an outstanding junior in Meteorology. In the last couple of years, he has gone on multiple storm chasing trips to the Great Plains. Ryan joined the Weather Command team in November of 2024.

 

In his free time, Ryan enjoys weather photography/storm chasing, bowling, golf, watching Chicago sports teams, and spending time with friends and family.
