Case Study #2 for Meteorological Monitoring and Consulting For the Nuclear Industry
Case Study # 2 - Meeting Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Requirements
A nuclear facility was having difficulty meeting NRC required 90 % valid data recovery values. This failure can result in NRC imposed fines.
Murray and Trettel’s Environmental Applications Division began a daily review of the meteorological data being collected at the nuclear facility. When data indicated a problem or potential problem with a meteorological monitoring sensor or signal conditioning equipment, a field services technician was dispatched to the site, that day, to troubleshoot and correct the problem. Rapid response to equipment problems greatly enhanced valid data recovery.
